How it works
Copy filing@documentd.com into an email you are already sending. Documentd reads the email, processes the attachments, and delivers the documents into your customer’s secure space.
Write your email as normal
Address the email to your customer and attach the documents you want to send.
Copy in Documentd
Add filing@documentd.com to Bcc or Cc.
Send the email
Your customer receives your normal email, and Documentd handles the document delivery behind the scenes.
Documents are stored
The documents are available in your customer’s secure document space, so they can find them again later.
Example
In this example, the customer receives the email as usual. Documentd also receives a copy and files the attached document securely.
Hi Sarah,
Please find your updated statement attached.
Let me know if you have any questions.
When to use it
Copy-in delivery is best when you are already emailing the customer and do not want to change that workflow.
If you want documents to stay out of the email inbox entirely, use #deliver instead.
- You are already sending the customer an email
- You want the documents stored somewhere better than the inbox
- You want the customer to be able to find the documents again later
How this differs from #deliver
Copy-in delivery is for emails you are already sending to the customer. The documents are emailed as normal, and also stored in Documentd.
With #deliver, the documents are not sent to the customer’s email inbox at all. They are delivered directly into their secure Documentd space instead.
Copy-in delivery
Email + Documentd. The customer receives the email, and the documents are also stored for lateraccess.
#deliver
Documentd only. Documents are delivered securely without being sent through the customer's inbox.
