Set up email routing with Microsoft 365

Configure your Microsoft 365 tenancy so emails containing #deliver are securely routed to Documentd.

⏱ 2–5 minutes 🔒 Admin access required

Automated setup

The easiest and safest way to configure your email routing is to use the automated setup process.

This will securely configure your Microsoft 365 tenancy without requiring manual rule creation.
1

Sign in to the admin portal

Go to admin.stayprivate.com and sign in with your administrator account.

2

Start server configuration

Navigate to Secure Delivery → Server configuration.

3

Choose Microsoft 365

Select Microsoft 365 and follow the automated setup process.

4

Grant permissions

Approve the required permissions so Documentd can create the routing configuration securely.

Once complete, your email system will automatically route emails containing #deliver to Documentd.

Alternative: manual setup

If you prefer, you can configure routing manually using Microsoft 365 mail flow rules.

This approach requires familiarity with Exchange mail flow rules.
1

Open Exchange Admin Center

Go to Mail flow → Rules.

2

Create a new rule

Add a rule that applies to outbound messages.

3

Set the condition

Match emails where the subject or body contains #deliver.

4

Set the action

Route or forward the email to your Documentd processing address.

What this setup does

This configuration ensures that only emails explicitly marked with #deliver are processed by Documentd.

  • Normal emails are unaffected
  • No changes to user workflow
  • Routing only happens when explicitly requested

Test your setup

Send a test email with:

  • An attachment
  • #deliver in the subject or body

You should receive a Documentd notification confirming delivery.

Next step

Once setup is complete, your team can send documents using their normal email workflow.
